KET wins 2nd place in the Best Developed Electronic Components Contest at the Korea Electronics Show
The Electronic Industries Association of Korea (EIAK) announced on the 28th that it will host the '2000 Korea Electronics Show' at the COEX from the 2nd to the 6th of next month, under the theme, ¡°It¡¯s a Digital World¡±.
224 Korean companies and 106 overseas information and communications companies from 11 countries will display their cutting-edge digital multimedia products and information and communications products in the 28026m2 exhibition hall.
Products to be displayed at the Exhibition include, in the digital multimedia category, next generation digital TVs, ultra-large PDP TVs, and Internet digital refrigerators.
Products in the information and communications category include IMT-2000 terminals and ADSL modems.
Products to be displayed in the advanced components and parts category include the 288 megabit Rambus DRAM, ultra-high definition TFT-LCDs, and 34-inch flat panel CRT tubes for digital TVs.
At the awards ceremony for the Best Developed Electronics Components Contest, which will be held on the 2nd at the COEX Convention Hall, LG Cable will be announced as the first-place winner, Korea Electronics Co. and KET as the 2nd place winners and KEC, Daeduck, and MK&Electron as the 3rd prize winners.

EIAK has announced that the total amount of export for the electronics industry has increased by 37.1% from last year to 43 billion dollars as of last month. Projections for the whole year stand at 66.6 million dollars, which is a 28.3% increase from last year.
According to EIAK, the most notable increases in export came from computer CPUs (80.6%), cordless phones (51.8%), and sound equipment (58.4%).
